Economist, Sebastopol, CA
Rhona began working as an economist with CSF in 2012. Her work focuses primarily on the development of CSF’s Oceans Initiative: CSF’s most recent program which focuses on building the economic literacy of marine resource managers and decision-makers to promote the recovery of fish stocks and the protection of ocean and coastal areas. Prior to joining CSF Rhona was awarded a PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Her research examined the feasibility of the payments for environmental services mechanism to improve environmental stewardship within artisanal fisheries characterized by high levels of poverty and inequality. Rhona has also worked with the United Nations Development Program, the World Bank, James Cook University and the Zoological Society of London. Analyses have included work on the economic valuation of ecosystems, green commodities, resource allocation frameworks, sustainable tourism and climate change vulnerability and adaptation investments. She also holds an MSc in Environmental Economics and Policy from Imperial College London and a BSc in Zoology from the University of Edinburgh.
