Pedro Gasparinetti
Pedro Gasparinetti is an environmental economist with over 15 years of experience in economic valuation methods. Pedro joined CSF-Brazil in 2017 as Executive Director and transitioned to the role of Director of Innovation in 2024, where he leads the development of decision-support valuation tools across CSF’s country offices. His work focuses on advising organizations on efficient strategies to design and assess impactful public policies and projects, aiming to make meaningful investments that improve social well-being. He employs advanced statistical techniques, such as choice experiments, to advocate for investments in nature-based solutions, conservation, agroforestry-based restoration, as well as conducting impact assessments of infrastructure projects. One of Pedro’s notable achievements is the creation of the internationally awarded "Mining Impacts Calculator," a groundbreaking tool used to assess the economic impacts of artisanal gold mining in various countries. Pedro has extensive experience consulting for institutions such as the German development agency (GIZ), the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA). He holds a master’s degree from the University of Brasília.
Committed to knowledge sharing, Pedro has conducted numerous courses and workshops on environmental economics for governmental agencies, communities, and private firms. He is known for his logical thinking, curiosity, and creativity as a researcher. In his free time, Pedro enjoys music composition and bike touring.
