Dr. Ir. Soeryo Adiwibowo, MS is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Human Ecology (FEMA), IPB University. He obtained his Bachelor's degree from the Department of Agricultural Socioeconomics, Faculty of Agriculture, IPB; his Master of Science from the Graduate Program in Natural Resources and Environmental Management Study Program, Postgraduate School of IPB; and his Doctorate der Agrarwissenschaften (Dr. agr.) from the University of Kassel, Germany. 

His academic and research interests include human ecology, political ecology, natural resources and environmental management, and ecological modernization. 

He has held various academic leadership roles, including Head of the Center for Environmental Studies at IPB (1999–2005); Head of the Department of Science Communication and Community Development, Faculty of Human Ecology (FEMA) IPB (2009–2013); and Secretary of the IPB Academic Senate (2008–2014). 

Beyond academia, he has served in several strategic government advisory roles: Senior Advisor to the Minister of Environment and Forestry (2015–2024); Special Staff to the Head of the National Land Agency (2011–2012); and Special Staff to the State Minister for the Environment (1999–2001). He has also served as Coordinator of the Climate Corner at the Climate Change Control Advisory Council (2015–2022); Member of the Kalpataru Advisory Council (2015–2024); Member of the Adipura Advisory Board (2015–2022); and Member of the Independent Panel for the Green Leadership Award Nirwasita Tantra (2017–2024). 

Since 2015, he has represented Indonesia as a delegate at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) conferences. Since 2022, he has served as a Supervisory Board Member of the Environmental Fund Management Agency. He currently serves as a Trustee of the Sajogyo Inti Utama Foundation; Advisory Board Member of the Center for Transdisciplinary and Sustainability Science (IPB); and Co-Founder of the Indonesian Center for Biodiversity and Biotechnology (ICBB). As of 2025, he is also the Chairman of the Executive Board of Conservation Strategy Fund Indonesia / Yayasan Strategi Konservasi Indonesia (YSKI).
