Heitor joined Conservation Strategy Fund (CSF) in 2025 as an Economist. With 7 years of experience, he develops research and policy on social-ecological systems with a focus on finance, biodiversity, and human rights. He works in the design, implementation, and evaluation of socio-environmental policies, with experience in projects involving economic incentives and financial solutions to support and develop products and services that enhance biodiversity and strengthen resilient and sustainable livelihoods. He also works in advocating at the United Nations (UN) Conventions on Biological Diversity (CBD), Climate Change (UNFCCC), and the Global Environment Facility (GEF). His main interest is to explore the impact of international financial institutions on forests and forest peoples and how to recognize and incorporate the diverse values of nature and nature's contributions to people in financial solutions. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a Master's degree in Science and Technology Policy. In his free time, you'll find him involved with food and nature: cooking, planting, managing, harvesting, or practicing outdoor sports. Sometimes juggling.
