Indah Widiastuti is a lecturer in Fisheries Studies and a faculty member of the Fisheries and Marine Sciences department at Sriwijaya University. She obtained her doctoral degree in Bioresources Science at Kagoshima University, Japan. Indah has published research throughout her career, including “Sustainable Livelihood Approach of Small-Scale Aquaculture Practices in Indonesia: Study Case of West Sumatra,” and “Sustainable Analysis of Small-Scale Fisheries in Coastal Area of South Sumatra, Indonesia: A Case Study on Anchovy.” As one of our Fisheries Management Area (FMA) 711 Groundwork Analysis Fellows for 2019-2020, Indah’s experience in fisheries and bioresources has enriched her research. Through her research, "Economic Valuation of Payung Island Protected Area in South Sumatra," she hopes to advance policies that increase small-scale fisheries’ and conserve Payung Island’s fisheries.
