Dr. Lara is currently director of the University Transdisciplinary Center for Sustainability (Centrus) at the Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City. He has been a full time professor-researcher at the Research Institute for Development with Equity (EQUIDE)and at the Department of Business Studies at the Universidad Iberoamericana. He has academic publications in peer-reviewed journals on economic valuation of ecosystem services, mitigation and energy efficiency, water and poverty, transportation decisions, environmental behavior, and urban sprawl. He holds a Doctorate and Masters degree in Economics from the Colegio de México and a Bachelor's degree in Administration from Universidad La Salle.
