Nuredin joined CSF as an Economist in 2023. His research primarily focuses on environmental valuation, and the impact of energy use (through various alternative sources such as electricity, firewood, and charcoal) on forest conservation and associated degradation in Ethiopia. While much of his current experience has been in research and lecturing, he has developed a special interest in the conservation of natural resources and its convergence with development, as well as climate change.
